ARMED SECURITY OFFICER (PALM DESERT, CA)

The Detail Protective Services is actively recruiting, and in immediate need for Armed Security Officers that will be qualified to join our high quality team of professionals.

The Detail Protective Services provides an array of security services based on accumulated experience and exposure to some of the most complex security challenges. Our team is composed of security professionals with diverse backgrounds in law enforcement, military, and the private sector, all working together to provide unparalleled concierge-level service to our clients. Our services include protective services, management and consulting for sensitive high-profile clientele, security consulting, and threat assessment.

Provide physical security services to high-profile/net-worth clients and their properties while maintaining the utmost level of confidentiality. Armed Security Officers are expected to competently respond to any situation that may arise while supporting the client.

Perform day-to-day protective security functions as specified in daily post orders such as:

– Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior areas of assigned buildings and locations.

– Provide physical security for corporate locations and residential properties.

– Provide secure transportation to clients and others as assigned.

– Conduct advance security preparations.

– Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, hazardous materials, and other critical incidents.

– Engage suspicious person(s) and conduct appropriate field investigations into their actions.

– Detain suspect(s) that may be involved in illegal acts for the purpose of notifying law enforcement authorities.

– Provide protective counter surveillance to identify physical or surveillance threats against client.

– Provide escort services to important people or for sensitive information or items such as documents and valuables.

– Conduct thorough investigations and prepare written documentation regarding non-routine incidents with reports, pictures, and witness statements that can be used as evidence to testify in court proceedings.

– Ability to blend into any environment with various outfits from workout gear, casual, business casual, business, and black tie all at a moments notice.

– Maintain clear, concise communication with other members of assigned security team(s) at all times.

– Operate security equipment such as security alarms, video cameras, body scanners, and fire equipment as and when situations demand it.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid and current driver license.
• Current CA BSIS Guard Card
• Current CA BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit
• Training Certifications for Powers to Arrest & Weapons of Mass Destruction
• Training Certifications for all BSIS Mandated Training & Education (32 hours)
• Current Firearms Qualifications
• Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
• 2+ years of Armed Security experience
• Drug free
• Professional demeanor, grooming and appearance.
• Pass a pre-employment background investigation.
• Required to sign a confidentiality & non-disclosure agreement.
• Accustomed to operating in dynamic and high paced situations.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills.
• Professional and positive communication style.
• Ability to stay level headed and respond quickly in stressful situations.
• The ability to work irregular or extended hours with an ever-changing schedule. Typical schedules may include overtime, nights, holidays and weekends on a regular basis.
• Possess a high level of physical fitness and personal appearance.
• Ability to perform continuous physical exertion as needed.
• Comfortably kneeling, carrying up to 50lbs, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.

• CA BSIS Baton Permit
• CA BSIS Compliant Chemical Agents Certification
• TASER Operator Certification
• College educated (e.g., Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree)
• Prior military or law enforcement experience with a proven track record of leadership responsibilities.
• Advanced medical experience (e.g., EMT, Paramedic, etc.)
• International travel experience
• Possess a valid U.S. Passport and be able to travel.
• Previous security experience, including remote monitoring, access control, physical security, emergency response.
• Completion of advanced driving / vehicle dynamics course.
• Familiarity with security equipment such as intrusion detection devices, access control systems, and camera systems
• Prior training in emergency medicine, defensive tactics, arresting techniques, and tactical firearms.
• Prior attendance of a recognized Executive Protection Course (i.e. ESI, EPI, Oatman, PFC, ITG4, TFTT)

Part-Time/Per Diem

$20.00 - $50.00 Per Hour

Specific hourly rate(s) of pay are exclusive to each client assignment.
